PALM HILLS

Palm Hills was the first of a new generation of courses to open in 1991. And was the first course in Hua Hin to stage the Thailand World Pro Am in 1993 gaining much praise from the British PGA.

80 meters above Sea level the rolling & gently undulating fairways provide Palm Hills with it's own individual identity. The only exception to the gentle terrain is on the 10th hole, where a semi-blind tee shot is encountered from the side of an imposing limestone mountain. Water is also a hazard especially on the 2nd, 8th, 11th and 14th holes. "Toppers" beware!

Being a "new generation" course, Palm Hills has great clubhouse facilities. Thai-style design with American-style facilities for the golfer who requires more than just a round, the Country Club offers a large swimming pool, Tennis, badminton & squash courts, and a fully equipped Gymnasium for the really energetic.

Overall this is a wonderful course with experienced, friendly caddies & staff. Palm Hills also offers some of the best views over the Gulf of Thailand. A must for your golf package.

Majestic Creek
Majestic Creek is one of the newest courses to open in the Hua Hin area, and the journey towards the course offers rural views of Thai life. Small farms producing sugar cane, pineapple, bananas & mangos line the route out to the course.

Majestic offers superb golf holes in an exciting layout. The opening hole has a wealth of potential problems, and decisions have to be made. An easy par four for those of us who want to take the conventional route, or if you are the adventurous golfer, then trying to cut the dog-leg corners will really test your skill.

The hazards of the 1st hole will never be far away, and precedes a succession of exciting & equally demanding holes. Mountain side location, Majestic offers natural hazards as well as the local designers own input, and will offer a round full of excitement & challenge to any golfer. IMPERIAL LAKE VIEW
Inland through small farms & pineapple plantations Lake View is another example of the quality of Golf Courses in and around Hua Hin. The design of this championship course conveys a sense of adventure. Hidden greens, mature palm trees and well defined fairways are on offer throughout this course, and spot decisions have to be made from the opening hole, as potential problems lie ahead. Playing Hua Hin Seoul offers a change from the longer championship courses, Fantastic sea views are one of the features of this unique layout where accuracy and placement are more important than length to score well.

This course proves to be difficult, and even some of the local professionals have trouble matching par here. Fast greens that are not easily read, will put your putting skills to the ultimate test! Enjoy!

SPRINGFIELD
This course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, and opened in 1993. It has gained a reputation of being one of the finest courses in Thailand, and is now established as a golfers must while in Hua Hin or Cha-am.

The course its self has been designed to meet the needs of a championship course, but maintains an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. Starting with a par 4 the first hole is a gentle 367 yards from the white tee, and on appearance looks to be quite simple.

Hopes can quickly fade, as the well protected green can prove difficult & requires accuracy. Overall with the cleverly devised layout, views over streams, lakes & the gulf of Thailand, you will find this course very addictive.

Springfield offers other first class facilities apart from the course. The club house was constructed in an elevated position that will leave you with a lasting impression. The interior is beautifully finished in polished marble & granite, and portrays a feeling of opulence associated with grand palaces.

SAWANG
An enjoyable and equal test for all classes of player. Lying in perfect harmony with its surroundings Sawang compliments Petchaburi's rolling hills. The resort also incorporates a big clubhouse, and hotel.

The course is located about 50 minutes from Hua Hin on the main highway North to Bangkok. Situated in a private valley of Khao Yoi, the course is gently caved in to the landscape surrounded by the fresh water lakes.

The lay out looks like its always been there with a mixture of both water and tree lined holes. Overall Sawang is an enjoyable course that appeals to all standards of player but with a few surprises for the lower handicapper wanting some challenge from the course.

ROYAL HUA HIN
In the 2nd decade of the 20th century a Scottish railway engineer by the name of O.A.Robins designed Thailand's 1st golf course. Opened in 1924 and less than one kilometer from the center of town.

Black Mountain Golf Club

Black Mountain Golf Club was opened in 2007, just fourteen months after construction first started. The golf course is only a ten minutes drive from Hua Hin, but the setting is tranquil and secluded with beautiful views into the distance. The course has been carved out of jungle and pineapple plantations and the designer, Phil Ryan, has incorporated all the natural creeks, large rocks and trees into a visually stunning golf course.

The aim of the designer was to create a golf course that looks as natural as possible and maintains many of the features of the site. The most important features are the natural creeks that run throughout the course and the natural rocks that have been used as design features on many of the holes. As many of the original trees as possible have been kept and new trees have been planted to frame the holes. Very important in the design concept, was to create a course that could be a test for the top golfers in the world but also very playable and enjoyable to the average golfer. All the holes provide the golfer with a sate route but for the more adventurous player there is a higher risk option with a potential greater reward. The design offers generous fairways for the shorter hitter but becoming narrower for the longer hitter. The greens are large with many pin positions, with different degrees of difficulty, and the course is well protected by beautifully sculptured bunkers. Much thought went into the choice of grass, and it was decided to use seashore paspalum for the tees, fairways and rough. This grass gives a wonderful playing surface and a beautiful emerald green colour. It was decided to use tifeagle bermuda grass on the greens. This hybrid bermuda grass is now recognized as the best putting surface in tropical areas.

No expense has been spared to make the golf course as good as possible and the same is true of the clubhouse. The view from the clubhouse is truly stunning, and gives a panoramic view over the whole course. The clubhouse facilities on offer include fine dining in the restaurant, a well stocked pro shop and luxurious locker rooms. Black Mountain Golf Club offers service and dining to a standard that is normally only found in the finest hotels.

The course yardage from the black tees is 7345 yards, blue tees 6502 yards and from the red tees 5652 yards.
